Symptoms

Performance:
· Bad general attitude
· Bending problems (especially one-sided)
· Tilting head while riding
· Tossing head while riding
· Tongue hanging out while riding
· Opening the mouth while riding
· Charging at the bit while riding
· Refusing to accept bit
· Refusing to change leads
· Refusing to collect
· Rearing
· Change in performance from normal

Feeding habits:
· Irregular jaw movement while eating
· Wide opening of the mouth in between chewing
· Eating hay before grain
· Padding hay between cheek and teeth (hamster cheeks)
· Tilting head while eating
· Dropping excessive grain
· Balls of hay falling out of the mouth
· Unusual drinking habits

General:
· Weight Loss
· Poor coat condition
· Foul odour out of the mouth
· Sensitivity in the area of cheek or joint
· Choking
· Cribbing
· Colic
· Long particles in feces (longer than 2-3mm)
· Bumps on jaw or face
· Discharge in eyes, ears or nose
· Mares unable to reach estrous cycle
· Stallions unwilling to breed
